hello ~ i'm bethany

I'm a senior-level visual communicator who has worked in a variety of different industries: data entry, TV news, insurance, healthcare and electric power. I've found that even though all of those companies had completely different business models, from selling products to recruiting new members, they all shared a similar goal: effective communication. And just like a good novel, each of those industries needed to tell a story in an engaging way to increase profits or expand membership.

 

That's what I'm good at - delivering communications in a clear, concise and visually-interesting way.

I started out producing, writing and delivering breaking news to a cable TV audience, fitting the right words with the best video to keep people from switching the channel. Then when I became a web designer, similarly, I used visuals and copy to engage a digital audience, producing sticky content to keep people from clicking away to another site.

In both careers, I've found the key is connecting with people regardless of the medium. And this is why I'm now pursuing a new career path of user experience design. Clear and concise content design is foundational to great user experiences!
